Around the world, particularly in the Anglo-Saxon, German-speaking, and Scandinavian regions, researchers from various fields have increasingly focused on the issue of "schizophrenia" in recent years. It appears that somatic and psychological experts have found common ground on the bridge of vulnerability theory. Despite a generally more favorable assessment of the course of the illness today, poor therapy outcomes for many patients and therapy resistance in some remain a concern and a challenge for researchers, therapists, and politicians alike. This volume, which summarizes the presentations from the International Schizophrenia Symposium held at the District Hospital in Haar from October 25 to 26, 1985, in German, introduces a systematic approach to addressing therapy resistance in schizophrenic disorders. Additional contributions are also included.
