The book presents a new method for determining the stresses in the potting anchorage of ropes. It is applicable to both metallic wire tension members and those made from synthetic fibers. It becomes clear that an optimized geometry can be found for the anchorage construction of each type of tension member when using different materials. The model presented here enables a targeted optimization of this end detail. In addition to a brief overview of the historical development of potting anchorages, the book provides information about the high-strength tension members currently in use, their fibers, and potting compounds in the final anchorage.
