Jörg Dallmeyer investigates the simulation of urban traffic scenarios. Various types of road users are modeled and transformed into efficient, valid simulation models. The road network is modeled fully automatically to simulate the traffic of entire cities. The author develops the traffic simulation system MAINSIM - multimodal urban road traffic simulation - and uses it for case studies, such as machine learning methods for analyzing and influencing traffic. He examines the effects of exemplary, non-conforming actions by cars, bicycles, and pedestrians. An artificial pheromone system is used to distribute traffic. Measured CO2 emissions are distributed using an atmospheric simulation based on real weather and terrain data in the Frankfurt area.
