Under increasing cost pressure, efficient service delivery in hospitals is becoming increasingly important. At the same time, the dependence on IT is growing. Hospital management often has very little knowledge of specific control mechanisms for IT – this gap is addressed by the book. Information processing has become an indispensable tool for supporting performance processes with documentation, communication, control, and optimization tasks. However, IT is still often treated as a stepchild in clinics. Written by practitioners, the book provides hospital management with a set of methods and procedures to professionally manage IT. These tools are translated from the language of IT into the language of management by professionals and innovators from the German hospital landscape.
