In no other subject is the student required to face the entire challenging path of solving engineering problems as early and as comprehensively as in Technical Mechanics. They must analyze problems, identify the essential elements, and translate a real object into a physical model. The resulting mathematical problem must be solved, and the interpretation of the results, which again connects back to the real object, completes the circle. On a particularly difficult segment of this journey, the computer has become an extraordinarily powerful assistant. The time that was once sacrificed to the laborious practice of solution algorithms is now available for problem analysis and the study of foundational knowledge. Training in (as elegant as it is complex) graphical methods has become a thing of the past.
