This book examines the Sudeten German organizational structure in the western occupation zones and the Federal Republic of Germany between 1945 and 1955 from multiple perspectives. It aims to reassess German-Czech relations beyond traditional notions of ethnic groups. The central question of the work is continuity: the spectrum of Sudeten German associations in the post-war period was not a product of flight and expulsion, but rather largely continued what had already been established in the Sudeten German milieu before 1945. The study posits that the Sudeten Germans are not identical to the German minority in Czechoslovakia, but only represented its ethnic spectrum, which was reconstituted in a new environment after 1945.
