Feelings, as I have stated in my brief writing on self-awareness, sensation, and feeling, are qualities of the self, determinations of the self, experiences of the self. More precisely, they are qualities or determinations of the immediately experienced self. Feelings constitute the self; I may therefore also refer to it as the feeling-self or the self-feeling. Feelings are ways of experiencing the self-feeling.

Opposed to feelings are the objective and the qualities of objective experiences. I deliberately say here: objective experiences, not objective contents of consciousness. Why this is the case will become clear later. Of course, I must add that objective experiences exist for my consciousness only insofar as they are experiences of consciousness.
