Product details

The reality of God and that of our highest goals simultaneously determine our beliefs, our happiness, our actions, and our virtues; that is, the reality of God and that of our highest goals determine everything we are.

Frithjof Schuon (1907-1998) is regarded in many parts of the world as one of the most significant religious philosophical writers of the 20th century. He is considered a leading representative of the school of thought known as Sophia perennis ('perennial wisdom'), which contains the timeless and universally valid principles that underlie the various teachings, symbols, sacred art, and spiritual practices of the world’s religions.

The focus of this book is metaphysics, which Schuon defines as 'the science of the Absolute or the true nature of things.' The title 'From the Divine to the Human' points to the 'top-down' approach: insights into the nature of the Divine, the Absolute, and the first principles shed light on questions of human nature, the realm of the relative, and that of revelation.

The book is aimed at individuals seeking a spiritually grounded understanding of the world and their own lives, an understanding that goes beyond the answers provided by modern sciences or religions understood only in an exoteric sense. It can lead to liberating insights and deep certainty.
