Product details

The sign painter Karl Blaschke shaped the appearance of numerous retailers in Munich and the overall look of the city center for several decades during the economic miracle years with his signs. In the post-war reconstruction period, there was a great demand for signs of all kinds. Especially in retail, there was a strong emphasis on representative shop signage due to the economic growth of the 1950s. No other company managed to influence the image of Munich's city center like Blaschke did in this environment. The small "Blaschke" inscription that he placed under his works was not only a copyright notice but primarily a quality seal. Not least because of the exceptional quality of Blaschke's signs, it was said of him: "He was not the cheapest, but the best!".
