They have existed for 180 years: the district governments of Lower Saxony. The political decision has now been made to abolish this traditional intermediate authority. For the first time, a comprehensive work on the history of the Hanover district government is now available. Matthias Blazek, born in 1966 in Celle, graduated from Lutherschule Hannover in 1987, studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Hildesheim, married with three children, a publicist, author of numerous village and association chronicles, and the author of the "Sachsenspiegel" for the Cellesche Zeitung, has dedicated himself to a topic through painstaking archival work, which is now printed in 100 pages and provides an interesting and well-founded insight into the history of the authority and the state capital itself. All in all, this is a reference work for administrative staff and local historians.
