This book develops a concept for process controlling and analyzes to what extent such a concept can be meaningfully and profitably utilized in hospitals. The aim is to present and expand upon existing tools. One such tool from controlling is process design, which has significant characteristics such as time and space, costs and services, quality and risk, and ultimately customer satisfaction. The problem areas are addressed from different perspectives and brought together into potential solutions. The concept is intended to help meet market demands in order to succeed in competition. Processes should not simply run unnoticed but should be actively shaped. The intention is to creatively rethink and continuously question process flows.
