Writing a history of the German Revolution is not something that comes to my mind. However, since the first days of November 1918, I have held a prominent position in Germany and have significantly influenced many events, so it does not seem inappropriate to me to record some of my memories. I have not been able to keep a diary. Even brief notes were often impossible for me on many days. The events unfolded so rapidly that some details have not remained in my memory.
