This bibliography, created from the SOLIS database (Social Science Literature Information System), contains sociological literature published between 1978 and 1982. It documents over 14,000 independent and non-independent publications from the entire German-speaking area. The bibliography is divided into three sections (Foundations and Methods, Special Sociology, Social Psychology) and a total of 29 chapters. It follows a previous publication of the same name ("Bibliography on German Sociology 1945 - 1977") and forms the first volume of a series of similar bibliographies that will be published at short intervals and will connect to the present. The bibliography is supplemented by a comprehensive index of persons, an index of institutions, and a two-part index.
