General Pedagogy - quo vadis? Once, it set itself the task of developing an overarching educational concept that encompasses all areas. In the meantime, it has become more cautious and now limits itself to contributing historical and systematic clarifications to the educational discourse. Even this offer of systematization is increasingly less in demand in today's ubiquitous jargon of 'education.' The essays in this collection, therefore, problematize central aspects of the current educational discussion and, in doing so, address the question of what sense, purpose, and function General Pedagogy can still have in the present. The volume explores what tasks the field may still have in the future when it comes to critically and systematically accompanying the often theoryless and contradictory high regard for the concept of education.
