The orientation towards social space is gaining increasing public attention within social work. The focus here is on local social spaces of actors. Using examples from settlement work, community work, and social space-oriented social work, this volume reconstructs the historical development lines of community orientation in social work. The underlying program is then confronted with empirical data and systematically placed in current social contexts.
