Starting from the music video as a paradigm of audiovisual compositionality, the band addresses fundamentally relevant dimensions of the transcription of video data, particularly focusing on the specifics of media product analyses. The newly developed analysis tool "trAVis" is at the center of this discussion. It is a music-centered transcription program for audiovisual media products designed as a freely accessible web application. Through a comprehensive case analysis, it is demonstrated that "trAVis" enables an appropriate analysis of music-based audiovisual formats. From a research strategy perspective, the program is designed to connect image-related and text-hermeneutic approaches with musicological methods.
