Is there a connection between forms of a biographical educational habitus and school career? How does such a connection manifest, and what educational consequences arise from it? The results presented in this volume from a quantitative longitudinal study provide initial answers to these questions. Special attention is given to the 7th grade and its particular significance for school career. Reconstructions of the educational habitus are linked with the structures and demands of the school career, allowing for theoretically open questions, such as those regarding the genesis and transformation of the habitus, to be answered with empirical reference.
