What happens when the population is given the opportunity to express themselves openly and unfiltered on bioethical issues? To give voice to civil society, the private funding organization Aktion Mensch has been offering the online platform "1000fragen.de" for several years, framed by a large-scale public campaign. The contributions of this discourse project, which represent a unique corpus of everyday discussions about bioethics, are the subject of empirical investigation. It examines, from a discourse-theoretical perspective, the structure and dynamics of media-framed communication, particularly focusing on participatory and sociological aspects of knowledge. The results show that the civil society orientation of the online platform marginalizes certain expressions.
