Although some commendable works on the sociological history during the Third Reich have emerged after three decades of collective silence since the 1980s, these have only sporadically and in exceptional situations found their way into the heart of the discipline. For a long time, the myth of sociology's white vest and the structural incompatibility of sociology and National Socialism has persisted. Breaking this myth is the aim of the present publication, which seeks to make the extensive existing knowledge about the history of the discipline during National Socialism accessible to a broader audience. Furthermore, the significance of the Jena Sociologists' Meeting of 1934 for the development of sociology under National Socialism and the dissolution of the DGS will be examined in an unprecedented manner, culminating in a concise presentation.
