Concern is certainly one of the reasons why the attitudes of young people towards political events are repeatedly in the spotlight of public interest. There is a worry that the still young tradition of democracy may not be passed on to future generations as a matter of course, and that over 50 years after the end of the Third Reich, historical lessons that are no longer personally experienced can hardly be conveyed. Headlines about right-wing extremism and political apathy increasingly portray young people as a problem group today. This publication provides an example of a project initiated by students that aims to address the democratic political awareness among young people while also gaining a description of their attitudes and opinions. The attempt by the State Student Representation (LSV) in Saxony-Anhalt to independently conduct a comprehensive vote under the motto "This is how we vote '98" can be considered successful given the respectable participation. The organizers placed particular importance on engaging the interest of female students. After the counting, surveys, and calculations were completed, this is the appropriate framework to present the evaluated results of the student elections '98 to the interested readership. We hope to provide helpful insights, especially to party-affiliated and non-partisan youth politicians. The State Student Representation of Saxony-Anhalt explicitly calls for appropriate imitation. Chapter 3 offers some suggestions for use in classrooms or workshops. Furthermore, this publication aims to raise public awareness of political viewpoints or attitudes among minors and their expression, the "democratic pre-sounds.".
