The book provides an introduction to the theory, method, and practice of an applied discourse theory oriented towards Michel Foucault. It contains a collection of articles that have been published sporadically since the mid-1990s, all of which have been revised and updated. Additionally, there are some original contributions. Alongside introductory articles on theory, method, collective symbolism, and normalism as central discourse-bearing categories, analyses of pressing discourses are presented, particularly on topics such as immigration, right-wing extremism, war, and biopolitics. Various theoretical and methodological aspects of applied discourse analysis are introduced, drawing on numerous projects, thereby suggesting the range of application possibilities for Critical Discourse Analysis.
