Product details
How flexible is the workforce in Germany today? Who experiences the greatest disadvantages in the increasingly flexible labor market? How do social inequalities develop in the process of flexibilization? Sandra Buchholz investigates these questions using modern longitudinal analysis methods. She shows that the flexibilization of employment in Germany primarily occurs at the beginning and end of working life. However, the consequences for younger and older workers are very different: While the exit from the labor market for older individuals has long been cushioned by generous pensions, young people must accept their flexibilization in the labor market without any risk compensation.
