The book introduces the theoretical foundations and methodological approaches of social science discourse research. It is the first German-language introduction to this rapidly developing new field of research. In the last decade, new theoretical and research-practical perspectives on the analysis of societal knowledge production and circulation have emerged in the social sciences, which work with the concept of "discourse." The book provides an overview of the current state and diversity of social science discourse research and explains its most important discourse-theoretical foundations. In a second part, the approach of sociological discourse analysis is presented. Following this, various options for practical research approaches in social science discourse analyses are described in detail.
