There are reasons for this, primarily related to the difficult question of what exactly the fields of educational science are. The first place of education is undoubtedly the family. While educational science has continuously dealt with this in research and theory, it is only to the extent that it is associated with professional activities, such as in the case of family education work, family counseling, or social pedagogical family support, that it constitutes a field of work for trained educators. The second place of education, which is more a place of learning, is also undoubtedly the school. The school seems to be "the" field of educational science par excellence, serving as a central public space for encounters.
