Reducing food to the aspect of nutrition alone won't last long. This statement in the article "Why Does Unhealthy Food Taste So Good, Professor Pudel?" makes it clear that everyday matters like food cannot only be viewed from a nutritional perspective, but that psychological, sociological, educational, and other social science aspects also play an important role in questions regarding public health. Publications such as "Nutrition in Poverty: Health, Social and Cultural Consequences in the Federal Republic of Germany" by Eva Barlösius and others cannot disguise the fact that, despite the central importance of nutrition in human life, sociologists have given it little attention so far. In Germany, there is not even a dedicated chair for this subject.
