Does refugee protection work today at the international, national, and local levels, and if so, how? This question is addressed in the present anthology on the occasion of the anniversary of the Basic Law and the Declaration of Human Rights. The new concepts and organizational structures of global and national refugee policy are analyzed. The global as well as the local situation of refugees is discussed, along with the opportunities for social work in the community in the context of human rights advocacy.
