Life in a romantic relationship can be both a support and an obstacle for women and men on their personal career paths. In partnerships, the career perspectives of the partners are interpreted, and decisions are made regarding the pursuit of career options. The book examines how couples organize their daily lives, how they reconcile work and family, and what strategies they develop to coordinate two career paths. It presents findings from a three-year research project that involved female professionals and executives and their partners, who were interviewed in narrative-biographical individual and couple interviews. In addition to providing in-depth insights into the life world of these individuals, the book offers recommendations for action that promote the professional development of women and facilitate the compatibility of two career paths in romantic relationships.
