In recent years, profound changes in the institutional regulatory structures of European education systems have been observed. Meanwhile, Educational Governance has established itself as an independent research field that focuses on the transformation of governance forms in the education sector. The aim of this volume is to analyze the altered governance practices. The empirical contributions primarily focus on the nationally and sectorally diverse processes and effects of governance modes. Additionally, theoretical and methodological advancements in the interdisciplinary understanding of Educational Governance research are discussed.
