How do people in Europe encounter "foreign" religions and religious groups in cognitive, evaluative, and emotional terms? Under what conditions is religious pluralism, as a whole, as well as specific religious communities and groups, accepted or rejected? What individual and contextual factors influence the willingness for religious tolerance and appreciation? These are some of the questions that this volume attempts to address through comparative analyses of five European societies.
