The author addresses the discrepancy between the current discourse on innovation and the lack of social science analyses of innovation as an opportunity to clarify the concept of innovation from the perspective of social work and to outline the theoretical foundation of the innovation concept. In an empirical study, she further demonstrates what enables and promotes development and innovation processes in social work, as well as the implications that arise from this for science and the profession. The book is aimed at educators and students in the social sciences, as well as practitioners in the field of social work.
