This research paper addresses a topic that is at the center of the international discussion on educational work in early childhood settings: the process quality of educational work in daycare centers. The background of this discussion is the understanding that the effectiveness of educational offerings is significantly determined by the manner in which they are provided or conveyed. In Germany, this has only been partially researched so far. Moreover, the existing approaches do not go far enough to provide guiding answers to pressing political questions. Therefore, it is commendable that this paper explores more deeply than before the state of process quality in educational work in German daycare centers. The answer to this will be provided with the help of the international state of knowledge. This aims to contribute to the discussion.
