Nicolle Pfaff investigates the significance of youth cultural contexts for political socialization during adolescence based on a multimethod research design. The results of a youth survey illustrate that political protest still serves as a criterion for youth cultural differentiation today and that adolescents acquire certain political orientations within these contexts. Furthermore, through comparative group studies from two selected youth scenes, the author describes the embedding of political interpretations and orientations in style-specific youth cultural practices.
