Are boys the 'weaker' sex? For educators working in boys' social work, there has been no doubt about this for some time. Due to their performance in school achievement comparison studies and the high dropout rates, boys are increasingly being viewed as a risk group. Boys are not only a topic in education and school policy but are also present in the media. In the academic field, they have not received sufficient research attention until now. With the results of a survey of 1,600 boys aged 14 to 16, we now have data that brings us a little closer to understanding boys as they really are.
