Current discussions about protecting children from threats to their well-being increasingly involve not only institutions and services for child and youth welfare but also other stakeholders. Schools, in particular, are facing the challenge of recognizing signs of child welfare endangerment and educational needs, and taking appropriate steps for qualified handling within the school and in collaboration with youth services. This opens up another area of cooperation between youth welfare and schools.
