Human communication is based on mutual understanding. This can succeed if the communication partners jointly accept universal claims of validity such as comprehensibility, truth, veracity, and correctness. Based on this basic idea, Roland Burkart has developed the concept of "communication-oriented public relations." The contributions in this volume discuss, modify, and supplement the theoretical and programmatic foundations of this concept. Empirical case studies and practical reports show its importance for different forms of communication and fields of application. For the second edition, the volume has been reviewed and revised.
