Over three generations, Hannah Müggenburg examines the influence of life events as sensitive phases for changes in the mobility behavior of students at TU Dortmund, as well as their parents and grandparents. The quantitative study traces changes over the life course through a retrospective survey. Differences in the experience of life events and their consequences for mobility throughout the biography and between generations are analyzed using multivariate analytical methods and discussed in the context of other studies. The quality of the method for collecting mobility biographies is critically reflected upon, incorporating feedback from participants, and evaluated in terms of testing quality criteria.
