In contrast to previous research on all-day schools, this volume highlights the modernization processes in developing all-day schools in their educational offerings. Thus, this study goes far beyond previous research. At the same time, it presents an innovative approach in qualitative school and teaching research, based on a new concept of learning culture. The observed and described school modernization processes signify a shift in the educational landscape through various forms of learning cultural openness—understood as simultaneous processes of individualization and formalization of educational offerings.
