The commentary on the final part of the KaIner Mani Codex, presented in this volume, would never have come about if I had not been introduced to the challenging field of Manichaean studies with the characteristic enthusiasm of Ludwig Koenen and encouraged to further explore the KaIner Codex. The work of W. Sundermann has been particularly helpful in commenting on those pages of the codex that depict Mani's early missionary journeys.
