Starting from the fundamental assumption that communication constitutes organizations, this volume explores how communication within school faculties changes in the course of mediatisation and what consequences this has for the organizational reproduction of schools. This question has so far not been addressed in school development research. The study is based on extensive case studies conducted at two large urban comprehensive schools. It includes group discussions, qualitative interviews, participant observations, and log file analyses of usage data from so-called school information systems.
