The present book has emerged from years of experience. The reader wants to know how a method can be used in adult education. Ruth Jahnke brought the original idea to me: the reader looks for various methods, for example, for introducing a topic, reads the descriptions of the methods, and selects the one that suits them best. It is important to ensure that not just "school methods" or any meeting rituals are passed down, but that methods and approaches suitable for adults are emphasized. Many of the methods presented are also suitable as interventions. For example, consider a commission. Some members of this commission are dissatisfied with the way things are working. The dissatisfied members discuss among themselves and suggest feedback on the current working methods during the course of the process. They look for a method in the Feedback chapter for this purpose.
