This book provides a comprehensive and illustrative overview of international migration and integration. It focuses on the various forms of migration, such as flight, labor migration, and family migration. In three self-contained sections, the driving forces and political shaping of migration and integration are presented on three levels: an abstract conceptual level, an internationally comparative level, and the level of migration policy in Germany since 1945. The events are analyzed from the perspective of the key actors, namely the migrants themselves, the receiving and sending states, as well as non-state actors such as businesses, civil society, and networks.
