Product details
The political has always been reflected in literature. The guiding interest of this volume is to uncover the political debates and reflections contained in narratives and to examine what they can tell us today for a deeper understanding of the political. To this end, Sophocles' tragedy "Antigone," Thucydides' "Melian Dialogue," Heinrich von Kleist's novella "Michael Kohlhaas," and Christoph Hein's novel "In His Early Childhood a Garden" are read politically, while interdisciplinary aspects of the narratives are also addressed.
