Risk behavior is a characteristic feature of adolescence. The forms and consequences of adolescent risk behavior represent a societal problem area and continue to be the focus of social science research, social pedagogical youth work, and youth political discourse. Over the past two decades, numerous studies and publications have been conducted in the field of youth research, with these works typically focusing on specific problem areas of adolescent risk behavior. In contrast, this anthology unfolds adolescent risk behavior in its broad spectrum. For this purpose, theory and empirical research are referenced based on the current state of research. In this book, the topic is approached in the first part from various theoretical perspectives, preceded by an introductory chapter and a chapter on the sociology of science.
