Product details
The study lies at the intersection of qualitative adult education, migration, association, and biography research. It attempts to intertwine an institutional association perspective with a subject-oriented biographical perspective using the case of Spanish migrants, thereby connecting research approaches that are typically treated separately. Methodologically, it employs the tools of participant observation and biographical analysis. Both in the biographical sketches of migrants and in their association-based cultural forms, processes of risk management, transition coping, biographization, or pedagogization can be reconstructed, which are characteristic of institutions and biographies in a modernized modernity. The author analyzes, for example, the efforts for solidarity within the association and for female emancipation in case studies.
