Self-determination and justice are indeed general values, but they can come into conflict with each other. The goal of achieving gender equality also touches on this area of tension, as the strategy of attaining gender justice by ignoring gender differences has failed. While it has been successful to anchor women more strongly in the public sphere, their historically significant integration into the private sphere cannot be overlooked. The other conceivable way to establish gender justice is through the recognition and enhancement of the private, female-dominated sphere.
