Product details
The significantly lower registration of crimes committed by women compared to male criminality is considered fundamental criminological knowledge. Just as old as the awareness of the unequal distribution of crime are the attempts to interpret the discrepancy between the genders from a criminological perspective. There is now a multitude of criminological studies on female criminality, as well as on the question of why the distribution of registered crime between the genders is unequal. Incorporating these issues into the anomie theory of sociologist Robert K. Merton provides an overview of the current state of research and contributes to the development of theory in this field.
