This textbook provides detailed guidance for conducting standardized surveys, primarily of the general population. The book first addresses general issues related to question formulation and response behavior. Special attention is given to the practical problems of questionnaire design and the implementation of pretests. For all forms of standardized interviews (written, oral, telephone, online), the specific characteristics of the survey instruments, sampling methods, and practical execution are presented in a hands-on manner. In particular, nonresponse issues are discussed in depth, along with strategies for their avoidance.
