Social work has previously insufficiently considered the social aspects of human beings in their entirety. In contrast, a historical approach provides a definition of human existence and coexistence in society. From the established theorization of the social, a theoretical foundation for social work is derived. The social as a whole becomes the subject of social work, which expands its previous understanding accordingly. This theoretical foundation also leads to social work being understood as a scientific discipline responsible for the social.
