The classic branch business in the banking sector has been increasingly reduced in recent years in favor of telephone and internet-based services in call or communication centers. Work communication and communication work are undergoing a fundamental transformation as a result. This empirical study sheds light on their characteristics as well as the backgrounds and consequences of the transformation process. To this end, perspectives from the sociology of work and technology and sociopragmatic linguistics are brought together.
