This textbook aims to introduce the study of public administration from a comparative perspective and provide an overview of administrative systems and administrative reforms in Europe. The authors present the first textbook on comparative public administration in the German language. It outlines the subject matter and analytical concepts of comparative public administration for students, educators, practitioners, and other readers interested in comparative issues of public administration, administrative policy, and reform. The authors examine fundamental characteristics of public administration in six countries (Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, and Hungary), which represent significant administrative profiles in Europe. Additionally, current administrative reforms are compared and analyzed.
